Chinese Wall Scrolls / Chinese Calligraphy Scrolls
We have made the decision to not compete with
E-Bay and the many sites on the internet that
offer low priced Chinese Scroll Paintings, Chinese Calligraphy Scrolls and Oriental scrolls. We have
found some of the finest Asian artists to produce
unique and original pieces of Asian and Chinese
art to mount on our Chinese scroll paintings. Taking
it a step further we have found two families in
China that mount our pictures to the Chinese wall scrolls.
The families have a long history in Asian scroll
mounting with over 40 years combined experience.
Born in Hubei, the brother and sister are hearing
impaired and have joined their family in this
very traditional business. Our other partner is
a woman born in Northern Shaanxi Province with
30 years of experience hand mounting.
The materials used in the matting process are
of the highest quality. Please take a moment to
compare our matting and scroll details to other
providers. Many of our Oriental scrolls come with
exotic wood, ceramic or bone scroll ends that
further exemplify our commitment to quality.
To protect these beautiful pieces of art – we have commissioned a local woodworker to create scroll boxes from Paulownia wood, the traditional wood for scroll boxes. Paulownia wood is a very light density wood that provides protection from humidity.

Most formal and collectible Chinese calligraphy and painting works are done on Shuan Paper (or Xuan Paper), mistakenly called Rice Paper in the West. Shuan Paper is made of special plant fibers, excluding rice. After a Chinese calligrapher or painter has created the work, Shuan Paper gets wrinkled naturally. To help please the eyes and preserve the artwork, Chinese invented many processes to mount Chinese calligraphy and painting works about 2,000 years ago.
